Ctrl + Shift + w - closes a pane

Alt + Shift + - - opens a vertical pane from the current pane

Alt + Shift + + - opens a horizontal pane from the current pane

Alt + Shift + <arrow keys> - resizes the panes

Alt + <arrow keys> - move between panes

Press Alt and click option from new tab menu to open tab in horizontal pane
